Franklin. 1 City (2020 pop. 26,414), seat of Johnson co., S central Ind., inc. 1823. It is a farm trade center. Manufactures include auto parts, aluminum doors and windows, and copper panels. Franklin College of Indiana is there. 2 City (2020 pop. 11,482), Warren co., SW Ohio, on the Great Miami River, in a farm area; inc. 1813. Paper products are manufactured in the city, which was a flourishing river port in the mid-19th cent. 3 City (2020 pop. 83,454), seat of Williamson co., N east Tenn. A noted Civil War site, it has served as a hub for rural Williamson county from the 19th-20th centuries. It has recently grown in population as a suburb of Nashville and a center for service industries. 4 City (2020 pop. 35,785), Milwaukee co., W central Wis., a residential suburb of Milwaukee; inc. 1956.
