Scunthorpe

Scunthorpe, city (1991 pop. 79,043), in the Parts of Lindsey, North Lincolnshire, E England. Situated on an ironstone field, Scunthorpe was a center of iron and steel manufacture from the early 1900s, and steel processing continues to be its most important industry. Food processing and wholesaling are also important.
