Sutton-in-Ashfield

Sutton-in-Ashfield, town (1991 pop. 39,536), Nottinghamshire, central England. There are lace and hosiery factories, coal mines, and other industries. The Church of St. Mary Magdalene dates partly from the 12th and 14th cent.
