Glück tackles her subjects with an insightful, often disturbing honesty. In Ararat (1990), she powerfully and unflinchingly examines family, love, and rejection. Known for her innovative rhymes and use of meter, Glück won a National Book Critics Circle Award for The Triumph of Achilles (1985). Her other collections include The House on Marshland (1975), Descending Figure (1980), and The Wild Iris (1992). She won the Bollingen Prize in 2001.
