A former art student and magazine model, “La Lollo” personified the movie star as sex symbol. She began her film career in 1946, starring in several Italian movies before coming to Hollywood. Her many film credits include Belles de Nuit (1952), Bread, Love, and Dreams (1953), Trapeze (1956), and Strange Bedfellows (1966). Lollobrigida semi-retired in the 1970s but appeared in the TV series Falcon Crest in 1985. Her last film was XXL in 1997, with Gerard Depardieu.
