ROBERTS, Clint Ronald, a Representative from South Dakota; born in Presho, Lyman County, S.Dak., January 30, 1935; attended the public schools; graduated from Presho High School, Presho, S.Dak., 1952; attended Black Hills State College, Spearfish, S.Dak., 1952-1953; farmer; rancher; owner of clothing store; member of the South Dakota state senate, 1972-1978; unsuccessful nominee for Governor of South Dakota, 1978; South Dakota secretary of agriculture, 1979-1980; elected as a Republican to the Ninety-seventh Congress (January 3, 1981-January 3, 1983); unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the Ninety-eighth Congress in 1982; director, South Dakota Energy Office, 1987-1989; is a resident of Presho, S.Dak.
