KONIG, George, a Representative from Maryland; born near North Point, Baltimore County, Md., January 26, 1856; moved in infancy with his parents to Baltimore, Md.; was self-educated; worked as a ship calker for ten years; superintendent and general manager of the Baltimore Pulverizing Co. 1894-1913; member of the city council of Baltimore 1903-1911; elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-second and Sixty-third Congresses and served from March 4, 1911, until his death in Baltimore, Md., May 31, 1913; interment in Baltimore Cemetery.
