BALDWIN, Harry Streett, a Representative from Maryland; born in Baldwin, Baltimore County, Md., August 21, 1894; attended the public and high schools, and the University of Maryland at College Park, Md.; owner and operator of a large truck farm; served in the State house of delegates in 1931; member of the board of county commissioners 1934-1942, serving as president 1938-1942; elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-eighth and Seventy-ninth Congresses (January 3, 1943-January 3, 1947); was not a candidate for renomination in 1946 to the Eightieth Congress, but was an unsuccessful Democratic candidate for the gubernatorial nomination; resumed agricultural pursuits; again elected to the board of county commissioners in 1950 and was serving as chairman at time of death; died in Baltimore, Md., October 19, 1952; interment in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Jacksonville, Md.
