BRODHEAD, Joseph Davis, (son of Richard Brodhead), a Representative from Pennsylvania; born in Easton, Northampton County, Pa., January 12, 1859; attended the public schools; studied law; was admitted to the bar in 1881 and commenced practice in Stroudsburg, Monroe County, Pa.; elected district attorney of Northampton County in 1889; delegate to the Democratic National Conventions in 1892 and 1904; elected as a Democrat to the Sixtieth Congress (March 4, 1907-March 3, 1909); unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1908; resumed the practice of law in South Bethlehem, Northampton County, Pa.; appointed judge of the courts of record of Northampton County in 1914; died in Washington, D.C., April 23, 1920; interment in Easton Cemetery, Easton, Pa.
