Canby, Jr., United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, 1982-1983; assistant to Mayor Terry Goddard of Phoenix, 1984; member and chair, Phoenix Board of Adjustment, 1989-1992; director, Arizona Community Service Legal Assistance Foundation, 1986-1990; practiced business and real estate law in Phoenix; elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Third Congress (January 3, 1993-January 3, 1995); was not a candidate for reelection in 1994, but was an unsuccessful candidate for election to the United States Senate.
