Christopher Guest

(Christopher Haden-Guest)
actor, writer, director
Born: 2/5/1948
Birthplace: New York City

Starting in the late 1960s, Christopher Guest made a name for himself writing for National Lampoon magazine and for that group's recordings and radio and stage shows. But his greatest success was in writing the script and music for the mock rock documentary This Is Spinal Tap (1983), in which he played the winsomely sullen guitarist Nigel Tufnel. Guest has appeared in various other movies, including Little Shop of Horrors (1986) and The Princess Bride (1987), and was a regular on Saturday Night Live during its 1984–85 season. More recently, he appeared in Best in Show (2000) which he wrote (with Eugene Levy ) and directed. He is married to actress Jamie Lee Curtis.
