Gandhi, Rahul

Gandhi, Rahul gänˈdē [key], 1970–, Indian political leader, B.A. Rollins College, 1994, M.Phil. Cambridge, 1995. Son of Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, he entered politics in 2004, winning election to the Indian parliament. From 2007 he held a number of Congress party organizational posts, becoming party vice president in 2013. In 2017 he succeeded his mother as president of the party, but he resigned after the party lost the 2019 elections.
