Stürgkh, Karl, Graf von kärl gräf fən shtürk [key], 1859–1916, prime minister of Austria (1911–16). During World War I he governed without the unruly parliament and was strongly opposed by liberals and radicals. He was assassinated by Friedrich Adler, an Austrian socialist.
