Paardeberg

Paardeberg pärˈdəbərg, –bĕrk [key], historic location, Free State prov., South Africa. In Feb., 1900, during the South African War, Gen. Piet Cronje and his Boer (Afrikaner) troops were forced to surrender to the British army at Paardeberg.
