Jabalpur

Jabalpur jŭbˌəlpôrˈ [key], city (1991 pop. 888,916), Madhya Pradesh state, central India, on the Narmada River. It is a district administrative center and an important rail junction and military post. Manufactures include weapons, ammunition, processed foods, and wood products. Jabalpur Univ. is in the city.
