Birganj

Birganj bērˈgänch [key], town, S Nepal, near the Indian border. It is a market town for agricultural products and has rail connections to Indian cities and Katmandu. Manufactures include refined sugar and cigarettes. There is also a fish-breeding and distribution center, built with U.S. aid.
