Bucaramanga

Bucaramanga bo͞oˌkärämängˈgä [key], city (2020 est. pop. 1,331,000), capital of Santander dept., N central Colombia, in the eastern highlands of the Andes. A leading commercial city, Bucaramanga is in the center of Colombia's rich coffee and tobacco area. Its main manufactures are textiles, cigarettes, iron goods, and headwear. Founded in 1622, the city still preserves many monuments from the colonial period. Bucaramanga also has a huge sports arena.
