Hoddesdon

Hoddesdon hŏdzˈdən [key], city, Hertfordshire, E central England. A residential suburb of London, Hoddesdon has light industries and horticultural works. Broxbourne Woods attracts many London visitors. Several old inns and houses still stand. Izaak Walton, author of The Compleat Angler, used to fish in the Lea River, which flows nearby.
