Gederah gēdē´rə, gĕd´– [key], town, SW ancient Palestine. It is mentioned in the Book of Joshua. Modern Gederah (Israel) has been the site of a Zionist agricultural settlement since the late 19th cent. The name is also spelled Gedera.
