chili con carne

chili con carne chĭl´ē kŏn kär´nē [key] [Span.,=hot peppers with meat], Mexican food popular in the United States and now manufactured and canned commercially. It consists mainly of beef, beans, chilies (see pepper ), garlic, and spices, although the ingredients may be varied.
