Birthplace: Englewood, New Jersey
Film and television actor first known for his role on television's Welcome Back Kotter (1975–79) and as disco king Tony Manero in the 1977 film Saturday Night Fever. His career languished from the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s, but his appearance in 1994's Pulp Fiction reestablished Travolta as a box-office draw and made him the king of cool. His other films include Grease (1978), Get Shorty (1995), and Primary Colors (1998). He is married to actress Kelly Preston.
