WHITE, Bartow, a Representative from New York; born in Yorktown, Westchester County, N.Y., November 7, 1776; attended the common schools and completed preparatory studies; studied medicine with his father, Dr. Ebenezer White, and commenced practice in Fishkill, N.Y., in 1800; elected to the Nineteenth Congress (March 4, 1825-March 3, 1827); resumed the practice of medicine; presidential elector on the Whig ticket in 1840; died in Fishkill, Dutchess County, N.Y., December 12, 1862; interment in the Dutch Reformed Church Cemetery.
