MARRIOTT, David Daniel, a Representative from Utah; born in Bingham, Tooele County, Utah, November 2, 1939; educated in the public schools of Sandy, Utah; graduated, Jordan High School, 1958; B.S., University of Utah, Salt Lake City, 1967; C.L.U., American College of Life Underwriters, 1968; life insurance agent; owner-president of a Utah-based firm specializing in business and pension consultation, 1968-1976; Utah Air National Guard, 1958-1963; elected as a Republican to the Ninety-fifth and to the three succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1977-January 3, 1985); was not a candidate for reelection in 1984 to the Ninety-ninth Congress but was an unsuccessful candidate for nomination for Governor of the State of Utah; is a resident of Salt Lake City, Utah.
