WILSON, Edgar Campbell, (son of Thomas Wilson of Virginia and father of Eugene McLanahanWilson), a Representative from Virginia; born in Morgantown, Monongalia County, Va. (now West Virginia), October 18, 1800; completed preparatory studies; studied law; was admitted to the bar June 24, 1832, and commenced practice in Morgantown; elected as an Anti-Jacksonian to the Twenty-third Congress (March 4, 1833-March 3, 1835); was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1834 to the Twenty-fourth Congress; resumed the practice of law in Morgantown; appointed prosecuting attorney in the circuit court of Marion County in 1842; died in Morgantown, Va. (now West Virginia), April 24, 1860; interment in Oak Grove Cemetery.
