FROST, Joel, a Representative from New York; born in Westchester County, N.Y., birth date unknown; attended the public schools; member, Westchester County Board of Supervisors, 1803; member of the State assembly, 1806-1808; first surrogate of Putnam County in 1812, and served in 1813, 1815-1819, 1821, and 1822; member of the State constitutional convention, 1821; judge, Court of Common Pleas; moved to Schenectady; elected as a Crawford Republican to the Eighteenth Congress (March 4, 1823-March 3, 1825); died September 11, 1827; interment in Gilead Cemetery at Carmel, N.Y.
