JOHNSON, Noadiah, a Representative from New York; born in Connecticut in 1795; completed preparatory studies; moved to Delaware County, N.Y., in 1817; studied law; was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Delhi, N.Y.; district attorney for Delaware County from June 1825 to November 1833; one of the publishers of the Delaware Gazette; elected as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-third Congress (March 4, 1833-March 3, 1835); member of the New York state senate from 1837 until his death in Albany, N.Y., on April 4, 1839; interment in Old Delhi Cemetery, Delhi, Delaware County, N.Y.
