KEESE, Richard, a Representative from New York; born in Peru (now Ausable) Township, Clinton County, N.Y., on November 23, 1794; attended the common schools and Keeseville Academy; engaged in agricultural pursuits; elected as a Jacksonian to the Twentieth Congress (March 4, 1827-March 3, 1829); engaged in auctioneering; judge of the Clinton County court of common pleas in 1835 and 1836; died in Keeseville, Ausable Township, Clinton County, N.Y., February 7, 1883; interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
