TUTHILL, Selah, (uncle of Joseph Hasbrouck Tuthill), a Representative from New York; born in Blooming Grove, Orange County, N.Y., October 26, 1771; attended public and private schools; member of the State assembly from Ulster County in 1805 and from Orange County in 1820; elected to the Seventeenth Congress and served from March 4, 1821, until his death in Goshen, N.Y., September 7, 1821; interment in Riverside Cemetery, Marlboro, Ulster County, N.Y.
