RIPLEY, Thomas C., a Representative from New York; born in Schaghticoke, Rensselaer County, N.Y, on January 2, 1807; received a limited schooling; studied law; was admitted to the bar and practiced in Harts Falls, N.Y.; farmer; elected as a Whig to the Twenty-ninth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of United States Representative Richard P. Herrick (December 7, 1846-March 3, 1847); was not a candidate for renomination in 1846; death date unknown.
