Aaron Carter was the younger brother of Nick Carter, one of the stars of the 1990s teen supergroup The Backstreet Boys. Nick's success opened the door for Aaron, whose musical career took off after he performed with the Backstreet Boys during a European tour in 1997. Only 10 at the time, Aaron quickly became a popular teen heartthrob, and By the time he was 15 he was releasing an album of greatest hits. After the initial flash of success, the hits didn't come as easily, but he kept busy singing on soundtracks and singles, and trying to break into acting. Aaron Carter made several appearances on the big screen, appeared in the 2001 Broadway version of Seussical and, in 2006, starred with his four siblings (Nick and their sisters, Billie Jean, Angel and Leslie) in the reality show House of Carters. His albums included Aaron Carter (1998), Aaron's Party (2000) and Another Earthquake (2002), and his singles included the bouncy hits "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)," "I'm All About You" and "I Ain't Gonna Take No More." In his 20s and 30s, Carter struggled with mental health issues; on the TV show The Doctors in 2019, he said he'd been diagnosed with both schizophrenia and multiple personality disorder.
