As the grandchild of President George Bush the elder, and then the daughter of President George Bush the younger, Jenna was much in the public eye during her youth. Her book Ana's Story, based on those travels, was published in 2007. In 2009, The Today Show announced that she would become a special correspondent for the show, while continuing to work as a teacher in Baltimore. Eventually she gave up teaching for TV and rose to become a co-host (with Hoda Kotb) of the morning show Today With Hoda & Jenna.
