Jill Goodacre was the first model to become a celebrity simply by appearing in the Victoria's Secret catalog. Jill Goodacre's auburn-haired good looks made her a favorite with readers of the lingerie catalog in the 1980s and early 1990s. (In those days before the company opened its mall stores, its popular mail-order catalog was its main source of sales.) That led to appearances on the David Letterman
show and elsewhere, including a 1994 guest spot on the sitcom Friends
in which she was trapped with Chandler (Matthew Perry
) in an ATM vestibule. She married the singer and actor Harry Connick, Jr.
in 1994. They have three daughters: Georgia (born 1996), Sarah Kate (b. 1997) and Charlotte Jane (b. 2002). She announced in October of 2017 that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012, a "stage 1 invasive ductal carcinoma." She also noted that she was in remission and the prognosis was good.
