Postal Workers Bitten by Dogs, by District

The U.S. Postal Service reported that 5,879 postal workers were victims of dog bites in fiscal year 2012. Dog bites to postal employees peaked during the mid-1980s when more than 7,000 letter carriers were attacked annually. Through aggressive employee training and public education programs that statistic has dropped over the years.
